SEASON OF GOOD NEWS

10 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.

41When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.

Good news is something that is positive, encouraging, uplifting, or desirable. It is the delivery of a long awaited expectation just like water gushing forth in the desert. It also makes others who hear the news to rejoice with you. Good news is impossible to keep to yourself.

It is what makes your heart leap for joy. This is the kind of news that cheers your spirit, soul and body. You can’t hold yourself back when you receive such news. This is what this season is all about.

When Mary greeted Elizabeth, baby John leaped for joy in the womb because he could fill the good news in the air.

The angels came to announce this special news to the shepherds who were watching their flock at night. The shepherds hurried to where Jesus was and found it just like the angels told them. They returned home rejoicing and telling everyone what they heard and saw for themselves.

The good news in this season is not restricted to only Mary, Elizabeth and the shepherds; it is for everyone as the angel said. It is also a season of glory as the glory of the Lord surrounded the angel who delivered the news.

Get ready for not only good news this season but also glory. Glory is what brings an end to all forms of shame and disgrace.

The barrenness of Elizabeth was terminated, a virgin became pregnant while ordinary shepherds saw a host of angels!

Making the whole body awake!

There’s news that makes the mouth to smile

Irrespective of its previous state

The smile progresses into laughter

Changing your mood instantly!

There’s news that moves the leg

In joyous dance steps

One that needs no practice

Yet so outstanding!

There’s news that makes the hand clap

In overflowing joy

Excitement that is inexpressible

Yet irresistible!

There’s news that makes the heart leap

Just like medicine to the body

It renews your strength

And you are lost in excitement!

CHRISTMAS SEASON 2

A SEASON OF FAVOUR

 The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”  Luke 1:28 (NIV)

Favour is an act of kindness beyond what is due or usual. Favour is in levels; ordinary favour and high favour. Mary was not the only virgin in Israel but favour singled her out. She was not even the only Mary in her days yet the angel did not mix up the address.

May the same other of favour that located and distinguished Mary be your portion this season. Favour is not a product of labour but God choosing to give you what you do not deserve at no cost.

Favour made Mary the mother of Jesus whose parents we never knew to be listed in the Genealogy of Jesus. She who was from an unknown family became a mega star all through favour. Till today, many people answer that name because Mary the mother of Jesus was a recipient of God’s favour.

The Christmas season is not an ordinary season, it is a season of favour. The same favour is still available today and it will be your portion this season, amen.

CHRISTMAS SEASON 1

Christmas is a wonderful season. It is just once in a year but without it, the year is not complete. There is more to Christmas than new shoes, clothes and gifts. It is the time when we remember the love of God to mankind which he demonstrated by sending his only begotten son.

Christmas is a beautiful season that comes with many blessings.

TRUE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS

Christmas is more than food

Not just about shoes

It is a season of love

And sharing with others!

Christmas is more than holiday

But rather a holy day

When we celebrate

The birth of Jesus!

Christmas is more than carols

It goes far beyond the plays

Much more than Christmas grotto

And Father Christmas presents!

Christmas is all about Jesus  

The baby without a room

Straw was his mattress

Wrapped with clothes in a manger!

The sheep welcomed him

They were his first visitors

The king of kings

Born outside the palace!

Shepherds heard the angels

Singing about his birth

The host of heaven

Proclaiming the good news!

The wise men from the East

Followed his star

All the way to Bethlehem

And bowed down to worship!

They presented treasures

Gold, frankincense and myrrh

They did not come empty

Before the new born king!

Christmas is here again

A glorious season

Filled with wonders and blessings

For the new year!
